Behind the Name
The name Clerk is derived from Latin word i.e. Clericus it means Cleric OR Clergyman.
Duties of Clerk: The responsibility of clerks is varying as per department wise. Most common duties of Clerk is to maintain records, manage general office works, filling, staffing favour counters, screening solicitors, attend phone calls, assist people, check out bills, communication in between public & principal, cut the invoices and others.
Electronics Works: The clerk will also operate scanner, computer, printer, photo state machine, email, the internet, voice mail, calculator, staplers, page and others.
Types of Clerk: There are two types of clerical jobs, one is Lower Division Clerks LDC and another is Upper Division Clerks UDC. Clerk Govt Jobs – Eligibility Norms
For LDC: Candidates must have passed certificate of 10th Class (Matriculation) OR Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Standard) from an authorized board.
For UDC: Job appliers should have Bachelor Degree (Graduation) with typing skill OR efficiency to operate computer machine and Equivalent.
Pay Scale: As per common norms, the monthly salary for Lower Division Clerk post is Rs.5200- 20200+ Grade Pay Rs.1900 and for Upper Division Clerks jobs is Rs.5200- 20200+ Grade Pay Rs.2400.
